About Addison

Addison Chernow (she/her pronouns) is an established, award winning, television director. Addie currently serves as a morning TD/Director at WCCO-TV, the top-ranked station in Minneapolis. She directs early morning, mid-morning, and noon newscasts during the week.

Addie has received three Midwest Regional Emmy awards during her time at WCCO, winning an individual award for “Director - Newscast or ACP Operator” in 2017. She has been in the director chair for many of the Twin Cities region’s big news stories, including:

  • The death of Alex Pretti at the hands of ICE during Operation Metro Surge
  • The shooting at Annunciation Church and School.
  • The politically motivated murders of Rep. Hortman, her husband, their dog and the shooting of State Sen. Hoffman and his wife.
Addie also serves as the director for coverage of the Upper Midwest Regional Emmys chapter's Gala, Silver & Gold Circle awards, and Student Production Awards broadcasts.

Before joining WCCO, Addie worked at WREX in Rockford, Ill., and WKOW in Madison, Wis., where she directed the ABC affiliate’s first HD newscast. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Broadcast and Electronic Communication from Marquette University in Milwaukee.

Outside of work, Addie enjoys tinkering with old computers, typewriters, snuggling her cat Finn, and watching YouTube videos. She will also eat a pepperoni pizza any day of the week.
